Colombia. The Cinemas of Cine Colombia in 12 cities of the country will reopen their doors on September 30 at 9:30 a.m., so that people with visual, hearing and / or cognitive disabilities enjoy a new function of Cine Para Todos.
Once again, the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies (MinTIC), in partnership with the Saldarriaga Concha Foundation and Cine Colombia, gives this population the opportunity to live a truly inclusive experience in each of the films that are screened. This month the turn will be for the film production 'The Day of the Attack', starring Mark Wahlberg, which highlights the struggle of society to overcome the scourge of terrorism.
This American film recounts the unfortunate events that surrounded April 15, 2013 in the Boston Marathon and that left three fatalities and 264 people injured as a result of a terrible attack. 'Patriots Day', as it is also known, simultaneously narrates the authorities' persecution of the terrorists and the stories of some of the survivors.
Cine Para Todos, the most successful initiative of its kind not only in Colombia but in Latin America, works tirelessly in each function so that all attendees know the details of each film and thus contribute to the seventh art becoming a real entertainment option for people with disabilities. About 74 films with audio description, Sign Language or special subtitles have been screened since the creation of the project in 2012.
