International. Visitors from across the media ecosystem had the opportunity to learn, through the Expo and Conferences, many other features about the latest advances in industry trends and technologies, including IP, cloud, UHD, HDR, OTT, formats such as VR, AR and MR, cybersecurity, 5G and bots.
Visitors to the 15 exhibition halls witnessed many exciting new launches, while the launch pad grew year on year with a record number of exhibitors.
Meanwhile, Conference delegates filled the Forum to hear from leading experts from various companies such as Facebook, Google, CNN, HTC Viveport, Dolby, C4 and ITV, as they discussed and debated the hot topics challenging the industry, focusing on media convergence and transformation.
IBC presented three new initiatives; the IP Showcase saw large audiences filled with real-world demonstrations of proven end-to-end IP workflows for production and playback.
The Startup Forum held in partnership with Media Honeypot brought together startups and scaleups with investors and also included HRH Prince Constantijn, a champion of the Dutch startup ecosystem who spoke as part of a panel on startups.
The inaugural invitation-only C-Tech Forum brought together senior executives from across the media landscape to discuss and debate two key issues affecting the industry: Cyber Security and 5G.
And the Innovation Awards also recognized industry excellence across the media ecosystem, with the International Award of Excellence given to Dolby Laboratories for 50 years of audio innovation.
The IBC2018 conference will take place from 13 to 17 September 2018, while the exhibition will run from 14 to 18 September 2018.
