Mexico. Until a few years ago, mobile video transmission equipment over IP networks was heavy, bulky and still complex to carry. Today that reality has changed. TVU has minimized the dimensions of these equipment, as well as optimized its transmission systems, taking advantage of the H.265 codec (HEVC), said Claudio Moriel, sales director for Mexico of the company.
"We are presenting our new H.265 codec already available for portable transmission and in our equipment for mobile units, the MLink, available and being sold and that several customers have already acquired these equipment worldwide," he said at Expo Cine, Video and Television 2017, held in Mexico City.
"HeVC allows us to have transmissions with lower bandwidth and lower data consumption. Practically half of what was done with the H.264," he said.
Moriel considered that the company is moving in the direction of the needs of the industry. "Technology is trending to make smaller equipment and much more portable, and now we have a backpack -TVU One- and we have a team that allows the cameraman to have greater versatility and not carry equipment as heavy as it was previously."
On the company's performance in the region, he said: "In the second half of the year we closed with many projects, entering the market in an important way. I believe that customers lose fear of IP and little by little they acquire backpacks and transceivers that allow to transmit simultaneously and reduce important costs for our customers, especially in the issue of free-to-air TV they are looking to save costs. I think we're going to close the year very well."
