Peru. Continuing with its policy of combating radio piracy, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, through the General Directorate of Control and Supervision of Communications (DGCSC), carried out an operation together with the Public Ministry and the support of the National Police in Ate Vitarte.
As a result of the intervention, citizen Christopher César Nolazco Pomiano, who was operating the equipment of the illegal radio station called Radio Santa Anita 103.0 FM (Teleservicio privado 234.545 MHz), was arrested by members of the district police station.
Nolazco must face charges for the alleged commission of the crime of aggravated theft of the radio spectrum, which has as a penalty up to 8 years of imprisonment; as well as the imposition of a fine of up to 50 UITs.
It should be noted that in the first half of this year the MTC has carried out 37 operations in which 118 precautionary measures have been executed and 329 transmission equipment has been seized, thus continuing the frontal fight against illegal radio stations that evade taxes and contribute to informality in the country.
