Argentina. The second plenary meeting of the year of the Advisory Council on Audiovisual Communication and Children, Conacai, was held with the presence of Enacom authorities to review the contributions that the Drafting Commission of the new Convergent Communications Law presented on children and childhood.
On this occasion, the Council had the participation of the coordinator of the Drafting Commission of the preliminary draft of the Convergent Communications Law and member of the Board of Directors of the Entity, Silvana Giudici, and the member of the aforementioned Commission, Andrés Gil Domínguez. There, the preliminary documents of the draft law on the protection of children and adolescents were made available to Conacai.
As part of the process through which the organizations make their contributions on the aforementioned documents, Silvana Giudici said that "the main objectives of the Commission, assumed before international organizations, were to guarantee the non-regression of rights." "On the contrary, we are advancing new rights not only in the protection of children and adolescents, but also in freedom of expression and in a large number of rights that this new regulation is addressing," he added.
On the other hand, a commission structure was developed with the intention of working proactively. The five Commissions of Conacai will be: Communication; Information and Communication Technologies (ICT's); Training, Research and Content; Promotion; and Institutional Articulation. Likewise, each of them will have a person in charge.
