Latin America. 2017 is an important year for gatesAir, as it commemorates its 95 years of bringing streaming technology to the industry. In Latin America, the company has had a consolidated presence for more than 40 years.
TVyVideo+Radio spoke with Diego Gilles, Sales Director for Latin America at GatesAir, who stressed that most of the channels that are in the region have been using the company's transmitters for many years and continue to operate without problems. "I couldn't give an exact figure, but at least half of the transmitters used in the region are GatesAir. Our teams are part of the history of radio and television in the region."
He commented that in Latin America they are currently participating in several projects related to the digitization of television and in updates of liquid-cooled FM radio transmitters. One of the particular cases is the fourth television network in Mexico.
Diego Gilles stressed that Latin America is served by a large team, working from several countries in the region and from the headquarters in the United States, with support in Spanish. In addition, it is working on strengthening the network of distributors.
To celebrate these 95 years, the company is preparing a special event at NAB, a fair in which they will also present novelties in their radio and TV transmitters, as well as in the line of consoles. And they will also have news for the shows in which they participate in Latin America, both in Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Peru and TecnoTelevisión&Radio in Colombia.
