Peru. The application of radio and television law No. 28278 and its amendments (Law No. 30216) will be discussed at the Forum on Broadcasting that will take place during the National Congress of Broadcasters, on October 15, 16 and 17, at the Convention Center of the Technological University of Peru (UTP), in Lima.
As recalled, the Radio and Television Law was amended in July last year, however to date it has not been regulated. The application of some articles related to sanctioning processes, the renewal and transfer of authorizations worries peruvian broadcasters, who are waiting for the response of their hosts to Law 30216.
The Forum will be held on Friday, October 16, with the participation of prominent panelists, including Silvana Armas Diéguez, from the National Society of Radio and Television (SNRTV); Manuel Cipriano Pirgo, Member of the Board of Directors of Osiptel and Former General Director of Authorizations in Telecommunications of the MTC; Omar Álvarez Herrera, Lawyer and Professor at pucp; Martín Piaggio Farfán, President of the Commission of Studies of New Technologies, of the Bar Association of Lima and Wilmer Benítes Maco, Legal Director of the Coordinator of Media Peru.
The confirmation of the representative of the General Directorate of Authorizations in Telecommunications of the MTC is awaited, since the broadcasters await the official version of the MTC, for example on the delay in the regulation of Law No. 30216, the application of article 70-A regarding administrative sanctioning procedures and automatic renewals.
The National Congress of Broadcasters is held simultaneously with the International Technological Exhibition of Radio and Television - EXPOTEC PERU 2015, which will be held from October 15 to 17 at the facilities of the Technological University of Peru, located on Avenidas 28 de Julio and Petit Thouars, in the Cercado de Lima.
