Latin America. The digitization of television and radio has made more and more TV channels and radio stations look at the issue of loudness and recognize its importance for the future.
Unfortunately, said Gilbert Felix, engineer for Latin America at Linear Acoustic, due to the lack of regulation on the subject in the region, there is little development in Latin american countries.
"Since there are no rules in Latin America on the issue of loudness, there are no needs. But people are understanding that with the digital world they're going to need something. Today I am not selling loudness in the region but equipment to control the quality of the audio. And in my opinion, on television the audio is more important than the video, because if the audio is wrong the viewer leaves, but if the audio is fine and the video more or less, people stay," he said.
He added that digital audio is much more complicated than video, and now with the digitization process in Latin America they are understanding the needs to bring good audio to people at home.
Gilbert Felix was present at the Broadcast Depot event in Miami, exhibiting his novelties, such as the Omia 7 and the Aero 100 processor, of which he highlighted that they are beneficial for the Latin market for their price and the technologies they offer.
