MADRID, 19 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -
Telefónica has been chosen among the 20 best companies in the world for its leadership management capacity, for promoting talent and promoting innovation at all levels of the organization and in all the countries in which it operates, according to the ranking carried out by Hay Group, the result of a survey of about 18,000 people in more than 2,200 organizations around the world.
The operator chaired by César Alierta thus becomes the first teleco and the ninth company in the world that best promotes the leadership of its professionals, the company reported.
According to Hay Group, the 20 companies listed in this ranking stand out for having their focus on the future, for always being ahead when defining which functions are and will be critical on their way to success, as well as for identifying and promoting professionals with the leadership and the appropriate capabilities for that function.
To facilitate this internal management process, these 20 companies are the ones that have put the most efforts into the professional development of new managers and middle managers through extensive training in network-based leadership modules (72% compared to 39% in the rest of companies), leadership training in classrooms (80% compared to 55%), and mentoring with a senior manager (68% vs. 39%).
The global director of Human Resources, Bernardo Quinn, stressed that this recognition is "a true endorsement of the successful transformation path chosen by the company" to become a digital teleco".
The Hay Group survey is led by Procter & Gamble, followed by Microsoft, General Electric, Coca-Cola, Unilever, IBM, Wall-Mart and McDonald's.
