Dalet Digital Media Systems Announced that the media conglomerate Grupo Multimedios chose NewsPro for Omneon to digitize its Multimedios Laguna facilities in the city of Torreón, state of Coahuila, in northern Mexico. Installed by the certified business partner, DMS Technologies, The Dalet package offers journalists and producers a tapeless production from start to finish and a platform of reproduction.
Sergio Rojas, director Multimedia Group technology claims that Dalet's NewPro, is a platform ready to use, feed, edit, program and play news and programs.
"A growing number of organizations such as Grupo Multimedios are looking for platforms standardized to implement tapeless workflows in your entire network," explains Nicolás Hans, marketing director of Dalet. NewsPro for Omneon was specifically designed as a ready-to-use package to help broadcasters make a transparent transition to digital environments.
In the Multimedia Group, NewsPro for Omenon ensures that the field material captured with electronic equipment for news gathering such as Panasonic P2 or DVCPRO 25 is directly transferred over a Ethernet network to a NetApp 270 NAS device, used as centralized production storage. Like all material is systematically referenced and tracked by the Dalet digital asset management data, the journalists and editors can easily explore the media available and select shots; these selections can be more late edited using NewsPro editing tools or forwarded to Apple's NLE Final Cut Pro Suites. The flow Dalet's built-in and notification engine makes review easy and cycle approval and ensures transparent migration from stories to an Omneon MediaDeck for playback.
