Robotic camera control system

Canon's BU-40H high-definition camera remote control system consists of a Canon HD camera equipped with three 1/3-inch CCDs, and features Canon's Autofocus and Image Stabilizer technologies.

The current transition of the TV industry to HDTV is creating a demand for Versatile and inexpensive means of capturing high video definition in a wide variety of environments. These include coverage of traffic or weather conditions, places of worship, legislative precincts and even security monitoring or cameras of the internet. In response to this growing demand, Canon USA launched the BU-40H system for remote control of high cameras definition.

The successor to the system robotic camera positioning NU-700N, the new BU-40H consists of a Canon HD camera equipped with three CCDs 1/3 inch (1,670,000 pixels) with an HD zoom lens Genuine, from Canon, with a 20X optical zoom radius (4.5 - 90mm). In addition to providing exceptional control and movement Smooth to position the camera, the BU-40H also offers advanced features such as Autofocus function and sophisticated Image Stabilizer technology from Canon.

The BU-40H system also provides a genlock input to synchronize the video system. The Outputs include HD-SDI and SD-SDI with embedded audio or NTSC composed of standard definition. The BU-40H can take out HD-SDI and NTSC simultaneously for high-definition recording and standard definition monitoring at the same time. The BU-40H is capable of 340-degree panning and tilt 80 degrees (30 degrees up and 50 degrees down). His head of Outdoor tilt and its waterproof housing are designed to operate at temperatures between -15 and 40 °C. The BU-40H housing also meets IP-45 specifications on dust and water efficiency, and has a short blade winds to keep the lens port clean. The total weight Positioning system, camera and housing is 47 Kg.

The control protocol of the Canon BU-40H system is not proprietary, i.e. users or system integrators can connect the camera with your own control system or with that of other suppliers to create a robotic control system. The BU-40H can be operated in automatic mode. Also all its main Features can be operated manually. The systems of Short or long distance control can be connected via RS-442. An optional I/O converter (electrical to optical) allows universal connectivity via fiber optics or a connection to the Canobeam DT-150 HD wireless data transmitter-receiver, from Canon, for transmission at distances of up to one kilometre.
