Harris' show at NAB emphasizes the interoperability of its solutions and the ability to integrate unified workflows across all broadcast technologies. Harris' initiatives related to product interoperability include:
-NewsForce, a digital newsroom solution based entirely on file and built on the Nexio XS shared storage server architecture. Leveraging the flexibility and speed of Nexio's SAN, NewsForce will include a new generation of editors (on top of the Velocity interface), optimized for fast outage handling, sound, and news broadcasting. Servers, publishers and graphics systems (Inscriber G-Series) working directly on the SAN will allow NewsForce to provide newscasts with a dynamic, MOS-compatible infrastructure to produce, process, distribute and manage content in SD and HD.
-Harris Assured Designs is a workflow system that solves real-world business problems. By combining the best software and hardware in SD and HD, these solutions improve the efficiency of broadcasting businesses immediately and significantly.
-A suite of MPEG-4 part 10 (H.264) high-definition compression products for contribution, distribution and transmission systems, takes advantage of the latest advances in compression algorithm technology and enables HD operations over satellite, terrestrial television or IPTV, with lower bandwidths.
-Harris offers a capacity of 3 Gb/s over its entire portfolio of distribution or signal processing products. This allows broadcasters to have support for emerging standards such as 1080p.
-Videotek's QuiC media analysis server now has new data analysis parameters and file correction tools to analyze files during ingestion, as well as correct file problems on the fly without operator intervention. This improves workflow efficiency.
