Solid State Logic, a manufacturer of digital and analog professional consoles, announced several appointments and promotions in its sales and service departments at its U.S. offices. Promotions aim to strengthen existing sales and service groups.
George Horton has been promoted to sales manager for the Western United States, Mexico and South America. Horton comes to sales after 16 years as an SSL engineer and service manager. His career at SSL began at the company's UK headquarters; he then toured the world as a service engineer with brief stops in Singapore. Horton took over as SSL service manager in Los Angeles in 1998. Horton will continue to work from the Los Angeles offices and will report directly to Phil Wagner, President of SSL, Inc.
Phil Scholes moves from SSL's New York office to Los Angeles to replace Horton as that office's service manager. Scholes joined SSL as a service engineer at SSL's UK headquarters and then moved to New York in 2004.
Bill Brown joins the SSL team in Los Angeles as a service engineer, reporting to Scholes. Brown, who spent 14 years with AMS Neve, has a wealth of experience in the film, post-production and broadcast markets.
Rob Penney, a service engineer at SSL's UK offices, takes on the same role in New York, where he will report to Thomas Jensen, service manager in that city
