Riedel introduced its C3 digital belt/headphone/microphone unit – the first compact all-digital solution for the combined operation of digital matrix and shared-line intercoms. The platform can be used as an individual unit or in combination with matrix systems such as Riedel's Artist platform. The product series comprises the C3 digital belt unit, the C44 System interface box and a C31 1x3 splitter.
The C3 is a fully digital, 2-channel ergonomically designed belt unit that includes popular features of conventional shared-line analog systems including
daisy-chaining. (or daisy-chaining). The C3 has two XLR connectors, one for signal input and the other for loop through. The latter can also be used as an additional analog input.Belt units are connected to the C44 system interface with standard 3-pin XLR cables. The C44 is a 19
"/1RU unit that converts 4 dual-channel CAT5 array ports into 4 live belt-pack lines. For use as an individual unit, the device has an integrated audio matrix. Up to 16 belt units can be connected in daisy-chain mode in each line and a single C44 can power up to 38 belt units. A complete digital interface is included for Artist matrix systems and a 4-wire analog input/output control to interface with other systems, whether or not they are matrix.
