Mexico. AJA Video Systems deployed a large number of equipment for broadcasters covering the 2018 Football World Cup Russia. One of its clients in Latin America was Televisa, which continues to have excellent results with these solutions, said Glen Green, regional manager for Latin America at AJA.
"The World Cup looks good for us; we have worked with Simplemente and Televisa; a lot of equipment has been sent to Russia for publishers, so Io 4K is being used by Televisa at the World Cup. In their facilities they have another device of our company, the FS1-X to make conversions from SD to HD, although not for 4K. They occupy the FS-HDR for their usual programming," he said.
The executive explained: "The main thing we are trying to highlight today is High Dynamic Range (HDR). In recent years this concept has become more and more important. We have a product called FS-HDR, which allows you to synchronize with our FS4 platform, Our technology can come out at 720p, 1080p, with High Dynamic Range or 4K. There are four channels inside to which you can add material in 2K and in another in 4K. In HDR we have the different controls for this format."
Green stated: "In these three years that I have been with the company, my management has consisted of reorganizing the distribution in Latin America and we have seen moderate growth every year. We have a number of geopolitical problems in the world. Currently, there are problems in Brazil; this year we have elections in Mexico, and those types of situations have had an impact on our field. However, during this 2018 our sales have increased steadily."
