Colombia. During this week the Bogotá Audiovisual Market, BAM, is held, which brings together in a single event, until July 14, the best of the national offer in terms of film, television, animation and digital content production so that they interact with national and international buyers who will attend the event in search of talent, projects and local content and can close effective businesses.
The eighth edition of the BAM will take place on three stages. The Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá de Chapinero will be the epicenter of business, the Multiplex Cine Colombia Avenida Chile will be the exhibition space for film productions to buyers and the Modern Gymnasium will be the BAM Experience, where the general public can access multiple activities.
One of the novelties of this edition is that the official sections BAM Projects (feature films and television and film projects in the development stage), Screenings (feature films in post-production), Bammers (new young talents) and Videoteca (finished and released productions), are joined by BAM Stories (screenwriters) and Festival Workshop for representatives of local and regional festivals.
For 2017, 51 young talents (Bammers) were selected, 46 projects in development in search of co-production, 12 scripts pre-selected or awarded by the FDC that are in search of allies to be realized, 13 feature films finished or in the post-production stage, 105 titles available through the virtual video library and 12 film festivals participating in the VI Workshop organized by the Directorate of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture. The agenda of BAM Talks consists of 18 conferences and is open to the general public.
BAM's academic program includes 18 BAM Talks that will revolve around distribution, sales and marketing. For five days, high-level international experts in the areas of project presentation, international sales and distribution, television, documentaries, cross-media, new windows and distribution models will give 200 tips applicable to any audiovisual project.
Some of the guests are Stephen Raphael (Required Viewing), Sylvain Grain (Cube Creative), Jaime Romandia (Mantarraya Producciones), Diana Bustamante (Burning Blue), Belén Santa-Olalla (Conducttr), Damian Kirzner (Mediamorfosis), Nicolás Schmerkin (Author of Minuit), Jaime Manrique (BogoShorts), among others.
Likewise, 36 working groups will be held in which realities and problems identified in the working groups of the Creative Industries and Content Cluster such as distribution, exhibition, co-production, convergence and consumption will be discussed.
The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá and Proimágenes Colombia, with the support of the Fund for Cinematographic Development (FDC), the BAM is part of the Chamber's strategic commitment to the cultural and creative industries that are an engine of economic development for the city-region and convenes, among others, the companies that are part of the cluster initiative of Creative and Content Industries.
