Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, granted the good pro of 40 FM sound broadcasting frequencies in various locations in the country.
The process, organized by the General Directorate of Communications Authorizations of the MTC and by the Committee appointed by the Vice Ministry of Communications, provides new opportunities for private investment in the broadcasting market and, consequently, generates greater alternatives for communication, information, education and / or entertainment for Peruvians.
In this public tender, the economic proposals for 11 localities were presented, located in the departments of Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Lima, Loreto, Moquegua, Puno, San Martín, Tacna and Ucayali. The call brought together a large number of bidders, who demonstrated the interest that exists in investing and developing quality broadcasting in Peru. In total, 28 frequencies were awarded for a total amount of S/.3'020,157.00.
Likewise, in order to promote broadcasting in localities of preferential social interest, 3 frequencies were assigned in Cachicoto (Huánuco) as a locality associated with the winners of the good pro of the town of Pucallpa – Puerto Callao (Ucayali).
