International. The Cintel film scanning scanner and the URSA digital film camera, both Products of Blackmagic Design, were recognized by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) during the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA).
IDSA is one of the largest and oldest associations in which industrial design professionals converge. Every year it celebrates the prestigious IDEA ceremony, in which excellence and innovation in the field of design are recognized. On this occasion, more than 1700 projects from all over the world were evaluated and Blackmagic Design's products won several distinctions.
The Cintel scanner won the Chair and Gold awards. This digital cinematic camera is designed for both large film crews and to record independently and includes a Super 35 sensor that allows capturing images in 4.6K resolution with a dynamic range of 15 stops, two memory cards with 12G SDI connectivity that provide the possibility of recording files in RAW or ProRes format, a global shutter and a 10-inch foldable monitor.
This was the 35th edition of the awards ceremony and was held in Seattle, Washington (USA) at the same time as the International Conference in celebration of IDSA's 50th anniversary.
