Pond5 liberates audiovisual history of the twentieth century

Latin America. The company Pond5 – dedicated to collecting and providing archives of images, music, animations and videos from artists around the world – presented the Public Domain Project, which contains almost 80,000 files that tell the history of the world of the twentieth century.

The Project exceeds the direct recipients for whom it was designed. They are the multimedia creators such as designers, film and video directors, editors and others, because also the general user will be able to download and use all the resources of the page for free.

From now on, more than 10,000 video files, 60,000 photographs, thousands of audio recordings and dozens of 3D models are available that were digitized and can be downloaded for free just by subscribing free of charge to the website www.pond5.com

Images from World War II, man's first steps on the Moon, the Olympic Games, car collections, music archives, speeches by key characters in history and much more. The remarkable thing is that all these documents are accessible directly from the Pond5 website and are used in any media, including social networks, at no cost.

"For years, all this amazing public domain content was saved and inaccessible to most media creators. They deserve this access. Our Public Domain Project allows media creators to use this incredibly rich media library that is theirs in its own right," said Pond5 co-founder and CEO Tom Bennet.

The collection includes 5,000 unpublished video archives, digitized directly from the National Archives in Washington D.C. Other featured content include Georges Meliés  ' 1902 film "Le Voyage dans la Lune" (A Trip to the Moon), as well as images from the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952, images from the World Wars, rocket launches from NASA and the International Space Station.

You can also listen to the speeches of historical personalities such as Winston Churchill and John F. Kennedy included in the recordings of the collection, as well as all the interpretations of composers such as Beethoven and Chopin.
