Brazil. Level 3 Communications, announced that it obtained the ISO 9001 International Certification for Quality Management of its data centers in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba, Brazil. Such data centers are equipped to give enterprise customers the ability to manage rapid data growth, ensure business continuity and optimize costs – key elements in delivering mission-critical business applications in a secure and efficient operating environment.
"ISO 9001 certification guarantees the quality of the processes and products offered through our data centers. This third-party recognition allows our customers to be certain about Level 3's commitment to delivering quality products and permanently improving its services," said Leonardo Barbero, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Level 3 for Latin America.
ISO 9001:2008 certification is an international standard that establishes the criteria applicable to a quality management system. Through this standard, a series of quality indicators are examined, including customer orientation, support for executive management, focus on process management and management systems, in addition to the commitment to continuous improvement.
Following an internal and external audit process in which Level 3's data center operations, infrastructure and related processes of facilities in Brazil were evaluated, the three Level 3 data centers were certified. The new certification will be in force for a period of three years. The audits were carried out by TÜV Rheinland, a provider of technical, security and certification services, and the Argentine Accreditation Body (OAA).
