OIT y FICCI

Colombia. The International Labour Organization (ILO) recognises that cinema is a powerful catalyst for taking reflection on the world of work beyond the spheres of traditional labour decision-makers.

For this reason, aware that reflection is the first step towards collective action and the transformation of the world of work, the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival - FICCI, and the ILO join forces in a strategic alliance to create the "Decent Work Award".

The main objective of this recognition is to continue to position the message of decent work and the importance of the workforce, representation and workers' rights on the big screen, as well as behind it.

All the films (short and feature films) of fiction and documentaries, selected in the different official sections of FICCI 63, which will take place from April 16 to 21 in Cartagena de Indias, and whose main theme is the world of work and/or the centrality of work in people's lives and in the future of societies, as well as the challenges faced by workers and employers, will be eligible for this important recognition.
