Latin America. Burano is the new camera presented by Sony that offers a new concept in cinema cameras. It takes the superior image quality and ease of use of the Venice camera, and reimagines it for single-operator productions or with a small team.
With a 33% lighter weight than the VENICE 2 camera, increased energy efficiency and compatibility with CFexpress mounts, it is not only our smallest CineAlta camera, but in many ways the most technically advanced. Expect impeccable image quality wherever you are, no matter the size of your computer.
The Burano camera facilitates 8K material recording. For the first time in a full-frame CineAlta camera, Fast Hybrid autofocus and Subject Recognition AF with artificial intelligence make it easy to capture the shots you want in the most demanding scenarios.
It has a large 36 x 24 mm full-frame image sensor that generates high-quality images and superb reproduction with wide latitude and a full color gamut. It achieves the bokeh effect and dynamic panoramic shots that can only be achieved with a full-frame sensor. It offers 8K image quality with a maximum resolution of 8632 x 4856 and, through oversampling, can transmit spectacular-looking 4K content.
The BURANO camera supports 16:9 and 17:9 readings in full-frame (8.6K) and Super 35mm (5.8K) mode. Image exploration modes include full-frame and Super35, as well as high-speed and subsampling modes, such as 6K 60p (FF crop), 5.8K 60p (S35) and 4K 120p (S35 crop), for a wide range of production requirements.
The Burano camera comes with an industry-standard PL lens mount and is compatible with all full-frame and Super 35mm PL lenses (both spherical and anamorphic). The lens mount includes contacts compatible with Cooke/i technology and lens information is saved as metadata, frame by frame.
The integrated processing unit powered by artificial intelligence not only recognizes the position of the eyes, but also records the human torso and head positions. The Subject Recognition AF function automatically draws a picture around people's faces when it detects them.
