Latin America. The internet television channel Univista TV, was launched on May 20, 2020 through the Internet, in the city of Hialeah in Florida, dedicated especially to the Cuban community.
Univista TV is a digital platform that was built with the latest technology, has two studios with a Master Control and remote transmissions from anywhere in the Miami area by using IP Production over SRT. It is a channel of entertainment, information and help among the members of the community and as its star, the Cuban José Carlucho says "made by our people, for our people".
His reference program is the popular "El Show de Carlucho": Humor Cubano del bueno... Comedies, interviews, musicals, current affairs, contests, entertainment and much more. It is a strong bet, a typically television content with exclusively digital diffusion, through phone, tablet, computer, or a Smart TV with Internet access. The success of this show positions him as a pioneer in the digital world with an innovative format that fuses a television production with the immediacy and connection of social networks.
The engineering was commissioned by the channel to OM Solutions, led by Juan Carlos Ortolán in Miami. The equipment chosen was entirely Digital and IP, both video and audio. Specifically, among others, the following equipment was included: FOR-A HVS-490 digital video switcher with 4K capability, NewTek TriCaster Mini SDI, Ross NK Series router and infrastructure and OpenGear Master Control, NewBlue graphics, JVC cameras, Dante Allen & Heath SQ7 audio mixer with AoIP connectivity and Yamaha audio monitors.
The Intercom System chosen was a 72-Port AEQ CrossNet with 12 TP 8116 Rack Panels for the Production Control Gallery, Video, Audio, Graphics workstations, as well as 4 TP 8416 Desktop Panels for Direction and Spotters.
The entire system is integrated into the AoIP flow of the chain and allows the exchange of signals between the different systems of contribution, production, intercom and coordination. Specifically, the audio present in the AEQ Crossnet intercom matrix, from its ports and panels, can be exchanged for IP Dante with that of the Allen & Heat SQ7 audio console, and taken to broadcast if needed.
For technicians and personnel on the move, on set and in other areas, the new AEQ Xplorer beltpacks were chosen, with WiFi technology and with an autonomy of up to 20 hours at full capacity. This is important when recordings are chained with live and there is no time to change batteries or recharge.
In order to count on the interactivity of the audience and also to be able to take the coordination outdoors, an AEQ SYSTEL IP16 talk-show and multi-conference system was installed with connectivity to multichannel AoIP networks. For call control and live coordination, the installation was completed with 3 SystelSet+ of AEQ, handset and touch screen control terminal on a single computer.
The system is connected to the Univista TV corporate switchboard, which allows interconnection with all areas of the chain, both technical and administrative.
The distribution of audio signals between the Crossnet matrix, the audio console, the systel IP 16 talk show and multiconferencing system audio, and the intercom user wired panels, is done using the Dante IP audio protocol.
The wireless panels of the Intercom system communicate with the matrix with the VoIP AEQ / KROMA protocol.
The voice lines of the system, the "Core" of talk show and multiconference Systel IP 16, and the Systelset+ user terminals of the system, communicate with each other through VoIP, HD voice quality, with SIP signaling protocol.
The entire project, with installation, configuration, commissioning and training has been led by the technical team of OM Solutions, in collaboration with the Commercial Manager for special markets of AEQ, Peter Howarth, and the central technical services of AEQ in Madrid that remotely worked to complete the execution of the project.
