Argentina. Thanks to the joint work that the National Directorate of Development and Development of the National Communications Agency, Enacom, carried out with the Public Defender's Office and the National Institute of Indigenous Affairs, INAI, different members of Mapuche communities were able to train to access the Competitive Development Fund for Audiovisual Media, Fomeca.
These trainings, which took place in various parts of the country, arrived in 2019 at El Bolsón, in the province of Río Negro, where indigenous communities in Patagonia were able to know in detail the process to access the financing lines that Fomeca has for the generation of audiovisual content, equipment, building adaptation and media management, among others.
One of these organizations was the Mapuche Chiguay Community, which after participating in the training meetings and preparing the corresponding folders for months, in 2020 was the winner with a project for radio building adaptation. With the amounts disbursed, in 2021 the Chiguay Community began to build what will soon be the future radio station.
