Peru. The Supervisory Body for Private Investment in Telecommunications, Osiptel, approved the Quechua version of the model standard contracts, so that operating companies use and deliver to users of public mobile services, fixed telephony, fixed and mobile Internet access, as well as pay television, whether offered individually or packaged.
These contracts must be delivered in those areas of the country where the Quechua language predominates.
In this way, Quechua speaking users will also be able to access short contracts of easy reading and understanding, which will allow them to understand and understand the conditions established regarding the contracted service, since the same simple and friendly design has been used, in Quechua version.
Likewise, each of the approved contracts will be accompanied by an informative booklet of user rights, also translated into Quechua, so that the subscriber can know, understand and remember what are the rights that assist them.
Osiptel promotes compliance with Law No. 29735, in those areas of the country in which the Quechua language predominates, so the operating companies will provide the information that is necessary for the contracting and provision of the service in the Quechua language.
These new models of contracts in the Quechua language must be used by the operating companies as of June 1, 2021.
