Colombia. The Minister of ICT, Karen Abudinen, presided over the virtual closing ceremony of the 5 2020 calls with a balance of 83 innovative and creative winning proposals.
"We have managed to reach our goal, the objective has been very clear from the National Government and is to save our audiovisual industry, that is why we have made this great investment. The 83 best audiovisual productions that will enrich our screens and audiovisual platforms were selected. We will finance their projects from pre-production to post-production," ICT Minister Karen Abudinen said during the closing event.
The ceremony had the virtual presence of about 500 participants to whom the juries and the evaluation committee expert in audiovisual issues, explained the technical criteria of the selection process in each of the stages in the different categories that were carried out.
"I must confess that I did not expect such a high percentage of good projects. Of the 69 proposals we analyzed, 15 were above average. That is to say that we had 20% of excellent proposals," said actor and director Kepa Amuchastegui, who was one of the 18 expert evaluators.
He added: "The evaluation method consisted of looking step by step at whether the contestants conformed to the proposal of the ICT Ministry and how much each of those requirements is worth. I congratulate those selected and those who did not stop working."
The 83 winning projects will receive economic incentives for 23,887 million pesos in the different categories to finance the complete process of realization, that is, it includes pre-production, production and post-production in the genres of fiction, documentary, animation and chronicle in web series.
