Peru. More than 200 citizens members of user associations, guilds, professional associations, chambers of commerce, among other institutions in the cities of Trujillo, Chimbote, Huacho and Lima were trained by the User Councils of the Supervisory Body for Private Investment in Telecommunications, Osiptel.
The User Councils held four workshops in which participants received talks on the procedure for dealing with complaints, the rights of users of telecommunications services, measures to strengthen citizen security through the blocking of illegal mobile equipment, installation of antennas, and also on the work carried out by Osiptel in the supervision of quality in the services provided by operating companies.
The Osiptel User Councils are constituted advisory bodies and represent a mechanism for the participation of citizens interested in regulatory activity linked to the telecommunications sector.
The Northern Users Council held workshops in the cities of Trujillo and Chimbote. The first was attended by the General Manager of Osiptel, Sergio Cifuentes Castañeda, who presented the Council of Users of the Northern Region at the House of Regional Identity. In Chimbote, the workshop was held in the Auditorium of the Municipality of Santa, where more than 50 people participated.
For its part, the User Council Center scheduled its workshops in the city of Huacho and in the district of Los Olivos, in North Lima. The first workshop was held in the facilities of the Youth Palace of the Municipality of Los Olivos, where the manager of Protection and User Service, Tatiana Piccini, participated. The second workshop was held at the facilities of the Municipality of Huaura.
