Latin America. The company Avid highlighted that the nominees and winners in four categories of the most recent version of the Oscars used its technologies. Categories include Best Film, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Best Editing.
In the Best Editing category, winner John Ottman, film editor of Bohemian Rhapsody: The Story of Freddie Mercury, as well as all the nominees, including Hank Corwin, film editor of The Vice President: Beyond Power, Yorgos Mavropsaridis, editor of The Favourite, Barry Alexander Brown of The KKKlan Infiltrator, and Patrick J. Don Vito of Green Book: A friendship without borders, they edited their films using Media Composer | Ultimate, the most widely used editing software in the film industry.
All nominees for the Sound Editing category used Pro Tools | Ultimate, the industry-standard digital audio software, including winners John Warhurst and Nina Hartstone of Bohemian Rhapsody, Benjamin A. Burtt and Steve Boeddeker of Black Panther, Ai-Ling Lee and Mildred latrou Morgan of The First Man on the Moon, Ethan Van der Ryn and Erik Aadahl of A Place in Silence, and Sergio Díaz and Skip Lievsay from Rome.
All nominees in the Sound Mixing category used Pro Tools | Ultimate, including winners Paul Massey, Tim Cavagin and John Casali of Bohemian Rhapsody, Steve Boeddeker, Brandon Proctor and Peter Devlin of Black Panther, Jon Taylor, Frank A. Montaño, Ai-Ling Lee and Mary H. Ellis of The First Man on the Moon, Skip Lievsay, Craig Henighan and José Antonio García of Rome, and Tom Ozanich, Dean Zupancic, Jason Ruder and Steve Morrow from A Star Is Born.
