Panasonic's New Camera Receives Design Award

Latin America. The AU-EVA1 professional camcorder design, recently launched by Panasonic, a compact and lightweight equipment with cinematic quality, has been recognized by the jury of the iF Design Awards 2019.

Industrial design experts at the iF Design Awards highlighted the work of Panasonic designers, who took into account the needs of modern filmmakers looking for high image quality in small devices. The AU-EVA1 allows its use in the most unusual sites and small spaces, either in the hands of the cameraman or in combination with the most modern accessories.

At first glance highlights its small body (135 mm x 133 mm x 170 mm), inside which are high-tech components that allow you to capture images and video with cinematic quality thanks to its Super-35 sensor of 5.7K resolution (5720 x 3016), which produces 17.25 million pixels.

The AU-EVA1 was conceived for work in locations with a versatile design that makes it compatible with different accessories, from gimbal and steadicam supports, to drones to capture spectacular shots. It offers the option to remove the top handle and change position or remove the side grip to facilitate the different configurations. Due to its weight, of just 1.2 kg, it makes the work of cameramen very simple during long production days.

Being a camera with cinematic features, it has a Mount for Canon EF optics, which makes it compatible with a wide variety of lenses and adapters.

Available in Mexico, the AU-EVA1 integrates a 3.5" LCD touchscreen with adjustable brightness, from which various camera functions can be controlled, including iris, ISO, white balance and direct access to the settings menu. In addition, if the user wishes, it can be operated remotely through a special app for iOS and Android mobile devices.

The iF Design Award is organized by the International Forum Design based in Hannover, Germany, and aims to reward the best of international design in the categories of Product Design, Communication Design, Packaging Design, Service Design and User Experience, Architecture, Interior Architecture and Professional Project. This year 6,375 proposals were received from 52 countries around the world, which are submitted to the consideration of the jury formed by experts in the field who examine different points such as design quality, level of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, materials, brand value and universal design.

The award ceremony will take place on March 15 at the BMW Welt in Munich, Germany.
