Latin America. The region has a good synergy in terms of migration to IP platforms. They are beginning to understand the implications, the challenges and the advantages that this is going to bring in the long run. This was highlighted to TVyVideo+Radio by Sergio Yañez, vice president of sales for Latin America at Imagine Communications.
In that sense, the company is developing particular applications requested by customers to have some features that allow solving the problems of the current workflow. Being a software-based system, it is easy to integrate.
On the technological evolution, he stressed that in Latin America technology takes a little longer to be adopted. But customers have understood the advantages of migrating to an IP infrastructure, such as cost reduction, flexible operations, optimized resources, and that is why they have begun to implement the solutions and in Brazil and Mexico they have carried out tests to understand the new technology.
Sergio Yañez pointed out that 2018 ended with many projects at the door, which have to do with technological renewal of the playout, and with a lot of interest in the migration to IP.
In addition, they closed important projects in Mexico with Grupo Televisa for their traffic system, with a cost of several million dollars that includes consulting service to support them in the new challenges in terms of the sale of multiplatform advertising. In Brazil, Argentina and Colombia they also carried out projects.
