Latin America. As major broadcasters in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina increased their capacity and number of licenses, as well as new markets and customers as content producers, 2018 was a good year for Interra Systems in the region, with sustained growth throughout the period.
This was indicated to TVyVideo+Radio by Juanchy Mejía, sales director for Latin America at Interra Systems. The executive pointed out that the previous year the brand ended up consolidated in the market and with a very positive response from customers in the region.
Since mid-2018, the company started in machine learning and artificial intelligence with a very active development. For 2019, these technologies will continue to trend focused on workflows. In the case of Baton, the company leverages these technologies to identify content and classify objects, which will be integrated with all solutions.
"In Latin America we are a little behind the industry but at a steady pace. The OTT market is growing, so is the cloud. A technology that has adapted very well to Latin America within our Baton licenses, has been the classification of languages in audio, CCs and subtitles in different languages. In the region they have been adapting these new technologies," said Juanchy Mejía.
Finally, he indicated that OTT technology and video consumption through OTT will generate 65 billion dollars by 2021. Therefore, this sector is where the company is betting on most of its technologies, seeking to guarantee the quality of service and experience for OTT and live.
