Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, through the General Directorate of Authorizations in Telecommunications and the Committee for the Reception and Evaluation of Proposals designated for this purpose, carried out a single public act to grant, in various localities of the country, the good pro of 22 frequencies (14 commercial and eight educational) of sound broadcasting, including FM (Frequency Modulated) and OM (Medium Wave) in eleven locations located in the departments of Arequipa, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huánuco, Pasco, San Martin and La Libertad for an amount of S/1'394.346.
"With this action, in its role as promoter, the MTC continues to advance in its work to reduce the gap in telecommunications services," said Mariella Carrasco, General Director of Authorizations in Telecommunications (DGAT).
During the event, the official said that the MTC seeks to promote broadcasting, as it allows generating greater communication alternatives and variety of content from and to citizens; to whom we owe ourselves and are always our main purpose.
The MTC thanked all the bidders participating in this public tender and invited them to continue participating not only through public tenders, but also through the frequencies available in localities classified as border, rural areas and of preferential social interest, whose authorizations are granted at the request of a party with a simplified regime.
