Latin America. The DaVinci Resolve 15 program was one of the winners of the awards for excellence in engineering granted by the HPA (Hollywood Professional Association). These highlight the technical and creative inventiveness in the field of media, audiovisual production, the completion and distribution of content and the conservation of archival material.
Launched during the last edition of the NAB fair, DaVinci Resolve 15 offers significant advances for work dynamics in post-production, with an important change in the linking of technical and creative tools, and several improvements in the general operation of the program.
This platform has been designed to provide in a single system a wide range of features ranging from ingest to final version, and includes various optimizations with respect to quality, functionality and delivery time. In addition, there is no need to use swap formats or to form files or convert them, and last-minute changes can be processed with ease, both in television and film productions.
DaVinci Resolve 15 includes a new module called Fusion that allows you to create visual effects and graphic animations for high-end feature films. Fusion is the most advanced program in this regard, and although until now it was a standalone application, it is now integrated into DaVinci Resolve. The Fusion module offers a three-dimensional work area with more than 250 functions to compose and superimpose images, use rotoscopic or vector painting techniques, animate text, follow objects, stabilize planes or generate particles.
The integration of Fusion and DaVinci Resolve is a complex project that will be completed within the next 12 to 18 months. However, it is now possible to start using the new module to create visual effects and graphic animations. It should also be noted that the independent version of the program will continue to be available to those users who need it.
DaVinci Resolve is not only the fastest growing editing program on the market, but it is also Hollywood's favorite when it comes to grading images. Blackmagic Design has taken into account the comments of professional editors and colorists, so this new version includes hundreds of improvements and features requested.
The HPA's annual awards ceremony will take place next November.
