The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, took the firm decision to reactivate the Commission for the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Information Society Development Plan (CODESI) to make the Digital Agenda 2.0 a reality by 2021 and the implementation of Information Technologies (ICTs).
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Communications of the MTC, Virginia Nakagawa, during the tenth session of CODESI held yesterday at our headquarters. He explained that the proposal to reactivate this commission – through a new structure, with a regulation that promotes more intense work meetings, follow-up, involvement of all entities, as well as periodic reporting to the Senior Management of these entities, among others – aims to improve consensus and efficient work, with the aim of promoting information technologies in Peru. tags.
"Minister Bruno Giuffra is very interested in the activities of CODESI taking on an exponential value, in order to reactivate and ensure that the Digital Agenda 2.0 and Information Technologies become a reality towards the National Bicentennial, with the consequent development in social welfare that these technologies imply in all the countries where they have been implemented", Nakagawa stressed.
"One of the proposals is to form an advisory council of the Information Society with greater openness and participation of the private sector such as universities, companies, and in general, academia and civil society, among others, whose points of view and experiences are very important for the successful development of that system," he said.
Nakagawa pointed out that another of the objectives of this reactivation is to give priority to four important working groups: teleeducation, telehealth, smart cities and cybersecurity that in the short term could show transcendental achievements, without prejudice to the dynamism of a sector as technological as this, will make working groups in other areas in this area.
The deputy minister, who leads this multisectoral group, said that it is also proposed that every six months, the representatives that make up the commission report to the Senior Management of their entities, the progress and achievements that are obtained in order to achieve the necessary support. "And the only way is to make the information transparent," he said.
