Latin America. The content development and production unit of Fox Networks Group (FNG) Latin America announced in the framework of NATPE in Miami, the launch of the first call of the Group that aims to promote the development of more and better stories of different genres in the region.
Aimed at screenwriters, independent producers and production companies, the initiative provides the opportunity for the creative community of Latin America to present ideas and projects, and access the possibility of working together with Fox Networks Group Latin America.
Edgar Spielmann, EVP & COO of Fox Networks Group Latin America said "There may be other very diverse calls, although we believe that it is very valuable the fact that it has the credentials of a company like ours, responsible for having installed concepts such as "Collywood" when kicking off in Colombia generating very successful content for the international market; something that fostered the development of the production pole that is today that country to which other players later arrived. Fictions, documentaries, sports programs, realities are part of the twenty thousand annual hours of original content we produce, credentials unparalleled in Latin America."
The dynamics, genres and themes:
Participating is simple and the call will have as its core the site www.foxproduccionesoriginales.com where those who meet the requirements can enter from January 25 their projects in Spanish -up to a maximum of three per author, production company or authorial team for all categories and that have not been previously submitted to FOX- until April 30, 2016, which will be evaluated by the Original Productions team of FNG Latin America.
Scripted and unscripted entertainment, factual and sports are essentially the genres comprised by the initiative. Within the scripted projects the spectrum of search ranges from comedies, dramas, action, adventure, sci-fi, suspense to thriller and mystery, while in unscripted entertainment will take place docu-soaps, game shows, competitions, realities. Factual will focus on docu-fictions, science, exploration and research, while for sports will be welcome from magazines, talk shows, current affairs and innovative formats adapted to the sports field.
The pre-selection of the first projects is scheduled for the end of July. These ideas will be part in September, of the "pitch" stage where their creators will have the opportunity to present them in detail and personally in meetings that will take place in Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Santiago de Chile, Mexico City. The final election will be announced in the last quarter of the year with the aim of developing the selected stories from 2017.
Hits such as "Cumbia Ninja", "Besieged", "Kdabra", "School for Husbands", "Lucky Ladies", "AGENDA FOX Sports", "NFL Impact", "Airport Alert" or "Amazingly", are just some of the many innovative contents that have forged the successful path of Fox's development division, which will now expand even more by incorporating proposals to the productions that the Group already has in its production pipeline for this year.
