Latin America. Elemental Technologies announced that Rodrigo Godoi has joined the company as director of field operations for North Latin America. Elemental has a rapidly growing client base in Latin America, including Globosat, Vivoplay Venezuela, and TV Azteca, and serves more than 700 leading media franchises around the world.
With over 15 years of experience in pay TV, broadcasting, telecommunications and sales and services, Godoi brings a deep understanding of the media and entertainment industry throughout Latin America on IP video. The new executive will be based in Miami, Florida, and will lead sales efforts in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining Elemental, Godoi served as Director of Sales for Minerva Networks, Latin America.
Dataxis' most recent research reveals that Latin American VoD OTT services generated $509.2 million in 2014 alone. The company forecasts that this figure will increase by 262 percent in 2018, reaching US$1840 million.
"Latin America is one of the fastest growing regions in the world in terms of over-the-top service launches," said Dan Marshall, Elemental's senior vice president of worldwide sales. "Elemental's software-defined video solutions are with architecture that helps media and entertainment leaders build video infrastructures or upgrade existing ones to keep pace with expansion and change."
