Argentina. AFSCA received bids for three new tenders for the award of Open Digital Terrestrial TV frequencies, category B, in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires. These are contests Nos. 83, 84 and 85, corresponding to digital channels 36.2; 27.2 and 27.1 respectively, receiving a total of seven offers.
In this way, the AFSCA continues to crystallize the policy of plurality and diversity of voices by competing for new frequencies of open TV, which has not happened for more than 30 years in Argentine television.
To compete for the signals, the firms were presented, Telepiú S.A., A.D.V.S.P.S. S.A., GEA Medios S.A. (in formation), Milione S.A. (two offers), Santa Cruz S.R.L and VP Inversora S.A.
In the public act, which was held at the headquarters of the agency, were present the director of Adjudication of Licenses Gabriel Sottile, the coordinator of Standardization and Public Tenders Dr. Mariana Motta, and the corresponding notary for each opening, along with the representatives of each of the bidders.
In relation to contests Nos. 83 and 84, the bidders were informed and the respective minutes recorded two judicial decisions notified to the agency on November 12, 2015, through which it was ordered not to proceed with the opening of the bids submitted until the precautionary measures requested by Perfil TV and Jorge Fontevecchia are resolved.
By virtue of this, and in strict compliance with the court orders, the offers were reserved in a sealed envelope inside two boxes with four security strips each, which were initialed by the coordinator of Normalization and Public Tenders, the bidders and the acting notary. The boxes closed with the proposals were left in the possession of the Contests area, in AFSCA.
