NAB. In its annual technical seminar for Latin America, which was attended by nearly 500 professionals, Sony presented its novelties, from the technological and business part for the region. These include the search for an industry standard for IP development.
Luiz Padilha, Vice President of Sony Professional Solution for Latin America, explained that the idea that the company is leading, aims to find a standard for IP transmission that allows interoperability between the systems of all companies.
The executive acknowledged that this is not an easy task, it is something very complex to achieve because all companies are researching and developing their systems. He made it clear that Sony does not want to impose a standard or take advantage, what they propose is an integration between all systems in a work with all companies.
At the event, its new developments were presented. For the 4K were presented its LCD and OLED monitors, a new software for the BPU 4000 with 4K support and the HDC 4300 4K camera of 2/3 3cmo5, the latter being one of the main novelties, since it is useful for those who are working in HD but plan to migrate in the future to 4K.
On the subject of IP, the company will present three prototypes of systems to make live production over IP a reality, in addition to the NXL FR 318 chassis and the NLX K IP 400T card.
On the administrative side, the event also served to introduce the new president of Sony Professional Solution for Latin America, Katsunari Matsuoka, who assumed the position since March and comes from being in charge of the company in Mexico. And to which is added the departure of the company of Andrew Nelles.
