International. The HJ24ex7.5B is Canon's new world-class portable lens with 24x zoom and a focal length of 180mm, delivering HDTV high-definition performance with increased image quality, ease of use and functionality.
This lens was designed for a wide range of studio and ENG applications, including news, sports and documentaries. It is the first of its kind in zoom ratio and focal length and a versatile range of focal lengths of 7.5-180 mm (up to 360 mm with a built-in teleconverter).
Based on the optical performance of its predecessor (the HJ22ex7.6B), the HJ24ex7.5B offers high resolution from center to edges in both close-up and telephoto photographs and provides aberration correction throughout the zoom range for sharper, clearer images. The combination of specifications and high image quality makes possible a wide range of creative expressions.
It is lighter, weighing only 1.78 kg, and offers a comprehensive improvement in handling with maneuverability, ease of operation and less physical effort when recording for an extended period of time. The center of gravity is closer to the mount, which reduces tension on the hands and elbows, and facilitates camera movement in any situation.
It incorporates a digital drive unit that is mounted on the lens at an optimal angle for comfort and balance. Startup is fast due to a high-performance encoder that supports communication with 2/3" HDTV cameras equipped with aberration correction function, without the need to start the lens.
The HJ24ex7.5B can run longer on battery thanks to an approximately 20% reduction in power consumption while not using the zoom, focus and iris functions.
