Latin America. Blackmagic Design announced the release of the latest update for the Teranex 2D, 3D and Express converters. This version offers an innovative application that allows you to control such devices remotely and convert between quad-link 12G and HD SDI interfaces on the Teranex Express model.
The update includes a new centralized control program called "Teranex Setup" available for computers with Mac OS X and Windows operating system, which provides the possibility of remotely installing and configuring all models of this line. This application automatically detects Teranex devices within the network and connects to them to control their functions.
The user interface features an elegant and intuitive design that makes it easy to access commonly used settings such as input and output selection, ProcAmp controls, color grading, aspect ratio and audio channel mapping. The changes that are made from the computer equipment are updated instantly in the converter, so that users have the possibility to modify on the fly the video signals that are transmitted live.
The new version offers users of the Teranex Express model extraordinary performance in terms of high frame rate connections, since it allows to convert SDI 12G (Ultra HD) video signals to quadruple link 3G SDI. These 3G SDI (Quad Link) signals can be sent to any Ultra HD monitor, where the image in that format is divided into 4 HD 1080 video signals that are combined again on the monitor to form an image in Ultra HD resolution.
This update supports Ultra HD frame rates from 23.98 to 60 f/s. In this way, the Teranex Express model now allows to transmit signals in Ultra HD format to a wider variety of display devices, including screen walls, large LED monitors and older equipment that supports 3G SDI signals.
Teranex 3.1 can be downloaded for free from the Blackmagic Design website.
