International. Harris Broadcast, a holding company of The Gores Group, presented Imagina Comunicación and GatesAir at its inaugural MediaDay held at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Imagine Communications will be headquartered in Dallas, with Centers of Excellence in Denver, Toronto, Los Angeles, Tel Aviv and Beijing. The company, with five decades of innovation in media software, has more than 3,000 customers in 185 countries, with more than 3 million products deployed that support more than half of the world's video channels, along with a broad portfolio of patents.
The company is introducing a new platform for media. MediaCentral integrates end-to-end advertising sales, traffic, scheduling, automation, and the broadcast platform that virtualizes key capabilities in the cloud. These solutions were previously provided on separate, distinct platforms. It is also introducing Defined Workflow Software (SDW), a capability enabled by the MultiService SDN architecture.
GatesAir will be headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, with its state-of-the-art manufacturing, supply chain and fulfillment center in Quincy, Illinois. It has been a pioneer in over-the-air TV and radio broadcasting for nearly 100 years.
GatesAir is preparing to guide broadcasters in effectively navigating major technological evolutions, such as digital conversions, new use of spectrum, and spectrum auctions and TV band repackaging.
"With vibrant new identities and focus, Imagine Communications and GatesAir are well positioned to serve our industry and customers. Our vision, direction and product strategy align more with today's transformational trends for our customers and partners. We have created two focused companies that are innovating at different ends of the technology spectrum," said Charlie Vogt, managing director of Imagine Communications and GatesAir.
