International. Time lapse recording, aperture indicator for EF lenses, exFAT format for SSD disks and support for Thunderbolt Windows, are some of the new features for Blackmagic Desing's cinema camera with the software update that the company made available to its users.
Version 1.2 of the software is certified by Intel for capture and playback with Thunderbolt under Windows. In this way, users will now be able to use a wide range of Windows-based software, as well as Blackmagic Design and Media UltraScope Express software via Thunderbolt.
The new time-lapse recording function allows you to capture video in CinemaDNG 2.5K RAW, Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD. Customers have a very wide selection of capture rates with this recording feature, as they can select from every second frame all the way up to one frame for 10 minutes.
Disk support for Windows exFAT SSD format adds flexibility when using HFS+ or exFAT formats. This is a Windows-based file system that incorporates advanced state-of-the-art technology, including large disk size and file support, width and high-performance compatibility. In addition, Mac OS X supports exFAT disks, disks formatted for exFAT can be placed on Windows and Mac OS X machines without the need for required third-party software.
