Argentina. The Government installed 36 stations for Open Digital Television (TDA) in its analog-to-digital signal transit project, which has already distributed nearly one million subsidized set-top boxes in several provinces of the country.
These stations are distributed throughout the territory, which has ultra high frequency (UHF) channels, to develop these systems. Julio de Vido, Minister of Federal Planning, assures that "the TDA is a conceptually different system from cable, since it promotes the democratization of access to content."
A large part of the 44 analog channels that transmit in the country, already received UHF to start the period of migration tests to the digital signal, as well as 42 universities that can already process in the National Communications Commission, to develop their communication systems.
The government's plan includes the installation of another 18 stations for the total change in 2019 to the TDA, of Brazilian -Japanese regulations.
