Recently I was asked what technology was for. Without a doubt I answered that in order to simplify man's life; however, this premise can fail with astonishing ease, even more so in these days when anyone can connect a cable or be an electrician.
Think about it a little more. He has not heard cases of relatives or friends who wanted to invest a good amount of money improving their house, through technological facilities, and then find that some of the systems do not work or the hands not correctly. When the time comes for the warranty a thousand inconveniences appear, but the technician does not do it and therefore does not answer for his work.
In that instant, which is not very difficult to be lived, technology stops solving and simplifying life. It goes from the illusion of having all the systems of the home or office perfectly interconnected to having boxes of useless devices lying around in any corner.
That is why you, an audiovisual technician friend, do not participate in these bad practices. If you are going to get into a project no matter how simple it seems, make sure that you can deliver to the client what they are waiting for. Make sure you have the capabilities and resources, technical and personal, to make a customer's wishes come true.
Finally, don't forget that you are responsible for making a brand and building a name for yourself. The work you do, the degree of commitment you invest in them and the support you give to your customers are elements that can really generate new business. Always keep in mind that technology is there to simplify men's lives, not to complicate it for you and your customers.
