Streambox released the SBT3-9500 HD/SD hybrid encoder for news collection, video transport, and HD and SD acquisition, live and file-based. The SBT3-9500 is integrated into a lightweight, portable solution, making it ideal for mission-critical video encoding over budget IP networks such as 3G, WiFi, Wimax, and the Internet. The encoder for HD and SD is usually deployed for field teams for low data rate news collection. The battery lasts two hours and can also run on a car battery.
The solution for file-based news collection and video acquisition offers improved handling of field-generated video for scheduled or on-demand transmission of video clips of different formats. The IP-based offering comprises three products, and each serves a single purpose in the broadcast workflow: the Streambox Store and Forward Server, the Streambox Store and Forward Client, and the Streambox Media Station.
