Samsung proposes the acquisition of SanDisk

International. The Korean multinational announced that it has sent a letter to the Board of Directors of SanDisk in which it reiterates its proposal for the acquisition of this company at U$26 per share and in cash. Samsung argues that the combination of both companies would bring substantial long-term and immediate value to the shareholders of both corporations. In a letter sent to SanDisk's board of directors, Samsung Vice President and CEO Yoon-Woo wrote: "A combination of Samsung and SanDisk would result in a superior global brand, an unparalleled technology platform, as well as the scale and resources to drive convergence in the market." The companies had been in constant communication for several months about a possible merger before Samsung made the purchase offer. (Source AV Technology)
