Band Pro Film & Digital presented the DigiDiopter +0.5, by Carl Zeiss. This new optical element is part of the line DigiDiopter of high definition diopters, currently available in +1 and +2 extensions.
DigiDiopters were designed to work in conjunction with Zeiss's DigiPrime and DigiZoom series, as well as with other 2/3 hd lenses. The DigiDiopters by Carl Zeiss are the ideal optical tool for large zooms or wide angles with shallow depth of field. Easily attach to the front of the lens for increase the ability to approach the focus and increase.
DigiDiopters employ a two-lens achromatic mount to minimize spherical aberration and color stripes, common problems that occur with diopter lenses Traditional. Zeiss optical design ensures high resolution and high-contrast images with precision consisting of any part of the frame. Optical elements carefully selected and the anti-glare coating T developed by Zeiss (the same applied to DigiPrime and DigiZoom lenses), reduce light loss and flash, while improving transmission of defined images with saturated colors and exact blacks. DigiDiopters are designed to fit the color balance, contrast and overall image quality of the DigiPrime and DigiZoom lenses.
Weighing 285 grams each, DigiDiopters are attach to the camera lens or to each other thanks to a single butterfly screw. A self-centered clamping mechanism maintains an appropriate distance between the diopter and the lens and it preserves them parallel, which ensures optimal image quality. This mount system subjects the least amount of stress to the lens itself, while keeping the DigiDiopters well secured. It also allows to stack the diopters on the front of the lens. The DigiDiopter +0.5 can be placed above the +1 for achieve an increase of +1.5, or on top of the DigiDiopter of +2 for one of +2.5. Or all three can be stacked all together to achieve an increase of +3.5.
