DVEO's OnRamp IP/Sat system receives streams transport of one or more satellite transponders, different satellites, cable channels or terrestrial channels and takes them to an IP network. The resulting flows can be seen with IP-enabled set-top boxes or software for IP flows video like VLC or MPlayer. The Linux-based drive too has the optional ability to transcode flows in H.264 format up to a combined bitstream maximum of 6 Mbps.
The system supports MPEG-2 and H.264 outputs and inputs in SD and HD formats, and optionally transcoded outputs in H.264.
The unit offers PID filtration of all traffic unwanted, which increases system performance and number of channels that can be transmitted per unit. It has a administrator for remote configuration through a Internet browser and SSH (Secure Shell).
It is ideal for IPTV, electronic news gathering, distance education and more. It is available in size of 2 u rack, composed of one to four DVB-S or S2 receivers. The MPEG-2 to H.264 transcoding is optional on all units. Customers can purchase option licenses additional and update the unit immediately.
DVEO will present its DVB-S or S2 input to IP in IBC, in Amsterdam, from 12 to 16 September.
