FOR-A in the content management market

FOR-A's MediaConcierge line BASEBAND and MXF file conversion and MEDIAConcierge file conversion programs unifiedly manage file processing, such as ingestion and format conversion.

MediaConcierge is a complete management system for content for use in stations and video production houses.

MediaConcierge acts as a concierge in order to manage the content, performing the conversion between common files and digital video formats, facilitating in this way the search, visualization and dispatch of files, and making the interface with database and files of third-party content media, Susumu said Hotta, president of FOR-A Corporation of America.

MediaConcierge runs unified management of different media files, such as media ingestion and format conversion, so that each media asset can be reprocessed for your office using a variety of destinations, including broadcasting, internet and packaging with other media, Hotta added.

During NAB 2008, FOR-A reveals its first two products MediaConcierges to be delivered to the North American market: the MBP-100SX baseband conversion software, and MXF file conversion.

MBP-100SX converter converts XDCAM HD MXF files to video signals and HD-SDI in baseband, and vice versa, in time real for applications that require baseband video. This Converter uses the new MBP video card, developed by FOR-A, which supports XDCAM HD tapeless media files, DVCPRO HD and AVC-Intra. FOR-A will develop converters additional, including one for H.264 and one for AVC-Intra. Both will use the MBP card and will be part of the MediaConcierge products, according to the requirements of the future market.

MxF conversion software consisting of three mcs-10PD (DVCPRO), MCS-10PA (AVC-Intra) and MCS-10SX (XDCAM) allows conversion of MXF data between P2 HD and XDCAM HD formats. Conversion Direct between P2 HD and XDCAM HD is made more efficiently than converting them to baseband.

With MediaConcierge, once the data has been managed, high-speed searches based on metadata and data proxy can locate stored scenes. High compatibility of the structure of MediaConcierge implies the possibility of connect to almost every type of database. Therefore, the operators can create a unified management environment without replacing your existing system configuration.
