New Ikegami Editcam
According to Alan Leil, vice president of Ikegami, the company's sample at NAB focused on "advanced implementations of new technologies for the era of tapeless HDTV." Within this perspective, the new Editcam HD camcorder stood out, based on CMOS technology and which uses Avid's DNxHD codec to provide high-resolution images (1920 x 1080), which can be edited on a PC in real time. The Editcam HD uses a 140 Mbps stream to deliver recording and playback in 1080/60 i, 1080/24p and 720/60p using FieldPack2 removable cartridges.
Ikegami also showed off the standard definition Editcam3 DNS-33W, special for ENG and EFP applications. In this camcorder, a FieldPack2, 80 Gb, can record up to 6 hours of DV25 digital video and optionally DV50 and IMX.
